THE Armidale Jockey Club will finish the calendar year with a seven-race card next Monday.
Nomations closed for the program at 11am yesterday, with acceptances out tomorrow morning.
The highlight on the card is a Benchmark 70 Handicap over 1400m, while a Benchmark 60 Handicap over 1900m is also part of the program.
The club’s first meeting in 2014 will be on Monday 27 January, coinciding with the Australia Day long weekend.
Play washed out
FOR the second straight Saturday, all play in the Armidale and District Cricket Association was washed out.
Sunday’s War Veterans Cup representative clash between Armidale and Gunnedah was also called off.
This week’s senior cricket draws are:
1st grade: Easts v City at the Sportsground, Hillgrove v Ex-Services at Harris Park.
2nd grade: TAS v Hillgrove at Moran Oval, City v Guyra at Lambert Park, Ex-Services v Barbarians at Rologas.
3rd grade: Hillgrove Colts v Hillgrove Brumbies at Newling, Barbarians v Ex-Services at Jack Vallance Oval, TAS Blue v Guyra at TAS Wakefield.
Derby bout rolls
INTEREST is fast growing for Armidale’s second roller derby bout of the year.
