YOU had better believe it – this is no John Farnham “one last time” tour.
This is it for the mighty Hunters and Collectors.
“There’s no intention to write new material, we’re not going to re-live anything,” frontman Mark Seymour said.
“This is the last thing the band’s going to do.”
A Day on the Green is always a fantastic festival, but with Hunters and Collectors claiming this is the last time they’ll perform around the country, it’s all the more reason to go along this year.
“I remember 12 years ago they (ADOTG) were just tiny little events and now they’ve really grown into some quite special regional festivals that cover the whole country,” Seymour said.
“They’ve become immensely popular because they’re multi-generational and people can bring their kids.
“You can reach a much broader audience in terms of age by doing those shows, and they have much more grassroots credibility with Australians,” he said.
“It will be a really big show, I’m really looking forward to it.”
The tour kicked off on the Australia Day weekend and will stretch across weekends until mid-April.
A Day on the Green comes to Peterson’s Winery at Armidale on 1 March.
Promoters Roundhouse Entertainment has once again put together a stellar line-up with the Hunters being joined by Something For Kate, Diesel and British India.
