Striking a chord

THE New England Conservatorium of Music celebrates will kickstart its 10th year with a concert at McCrossin’s Mill in Uralla on Sunday, 16 March.

NECOM director Susanne James said the conservatorium wanted to do something special in its 10th year.
“We decided to bring back our incredibly popular Heritage Homestead Series from 2012 because it struck a real chord with audiences,” she aid.
“People just loved the concept of hearing chamber music played in small heritage venues that have great acoustics and atmosphere.”
On Sunday 16 March, audiences are invited to come early to have a glass of wine and hear local historian Kent Mayo talk about McCrossin’s Mill history at 3.15pm before the concert starts at 4pm.
All concert proceeds will go towards NECOM’s bursary fund to help students in need of financial assistance.
