AN ARMIDALE man facing obscene exposure charges faced court for the first time on Monday.
John Daniel Munro, 18, pleaded not guilty wilful and obscene exposure to three women in Armidale in three separate incidents dating back as far as December last year.
Police allege Munro exposed himself to a woman walking along a path near Centennial Close on 15 March.
He was charged the same night with two previous offences.
Magistrate Karen Stafford adjourned the case to June while Munro remains on bail.
Lessons for change
A KEY driver and architect of the change agenda behind Australia’s National Disability Insurance Scheme, Bruce Bonyhady will give his personal insight during the long struggle to secure the NDIS at a public next week.
Now chair of the National Disability Insurance Agency, Mr Bonyhady will present ‘A revolution in our time: the NDIS and lessons for Change’ at the University of New England.
“The NDIS reform is for all Australians. None of us know when we or a friend or a child might acquire a disability,” he said.
The lecture will take place in Lecture Theatre 1, Business and Law Building at UNE from 3pm on Monday. Parking will be available near the venue.
Sounds entertaining
ARMIDALE’S talented young performers are supporting the Civic Precinct Committee with the Armidale Youth Spectacular at Lazenby Hall on Friday night.
Performers from local high schools, several dance groups, Felt Tip Theatre Company and the New England Conservatorium of Music will perform a varied program of string ensembles, vocal music, jazz, dance and drama.
The Civic Precinct Committee is continuing to drive forward with strategies to raise awareness and funds for the development of a new library for Armidale.
Tickets will be sold at the door for the Armidale Youth Spectacular. The performance starts at 7pm. Adults $10, children $5.
