ARMIDALE Urban Rivercare Group has organised a tree planting event this Sunday November at Elizabeth Park.
Over the last 10 years AURG has rehabilitated two kilometres of Dumaresq Creek within Armidale and Elizabeth Park has been a focus of the group’s work over that period.
The group has ordered 1000 native seedlings for this weekend from the Armidale Tree Group, all grown from locally collect seeds.
Armidale Dumaresq Lions Club provides morning tea and a barbecue lunch for a gold coin donation. All volunteers are welcome and encouraged to bring their own gloves, to wear long sleeves and strong footwear.
Tracing history
THE November meeting of the Armidale Family History Group will be held at the Kentucky Street Research Centre on Tuesday 12 November at 7.30pm. After the general meeting Pearl Moffatt will be the guest speaker. Her topic is the Fraser family – from the Boer War to Afghanistan.
