Awards to praise business excellence

Planning for the 2012 Armidale Business Awards is well underway, with a record number of nominations being submitted to the Armidale Business Chamber.
“We are very excited about this year’s awards,” said Chamber CEO, Elizabeth Egan. “Nominations are up by 30 per cent, so competition for the Awards will be hard fought.”
This year, the Chamber has created new categories for some of the areas that have traditionally received a large number of nominations, like tourism, accommodation, pubs and clubs, cafes and restaurants.
The 2012 Awards will also feature a new category for Creative Industries and the highly coveted Business of the Year and New England Enterprising Woman Awards.
A independent panel of judges are looking for the unique qualities of the nominated businesses and what truly sets them apart. This year, Chamber and Awards sponsors will play an active role in the judging process and their representatives will help with the award presentation at the Gala Event to be held on June 1.
“An event like this would be impossible without the generous support of our sponsors, which include Platinum sponsor Yes Optus, Qantaslink and our major media sponsor Focus Magazine,” said Ms Egan
The 2012 Awards ceremony will take place at the TAS Hoskins Centre and will be hosted by well-known ABC commentator Stephanie Brantz.
