Horsin’ around

Torrian Togo catches up with relieving principal Robyn Ludeke.

DEDICATED volunteers at the New England Brumby Sanctuary will be throwing open the gates to the public for a day of fun for the whole family on Sunday 20 October.
Meet renowned horseman Philip Snell and see him riding and handling brumby horses rescued from Guy Fawkes River National Park.
Philip has ridden and competed all over the world; watch as his horse ‘whispering’ and gentle approach works miracles with the brumbies.
Take a sanctuary tour to the back paddocks and meet the resident stallions and mares – the kids will love the little foals.
There will be an Information booth, well handled horses available for adoption to approved homes, a sausage sizzle, drinks on tap and everything you wish to know about Australia’s Icon, the heritage brumby horse.
Gates open at 10am, admission is a small donation to support the ongoing work of Save the Brumbies which is a tax deductible animal welfare charity.
New England Brumby Sanctuary is situated at 326 Fleetwood Road, Armidale. For direction map and further details phone 02 6655 2224 or 02 6775 5232. Email: info@savethebrumbies.org website: www.savethebrumbies.org
