Taste New England, a foodie fiesta

By GARY FRY

TASTE New England was held all day Sunday at Glen Innes, in “The Yard” Hereford Steakhouse.
It was a hearty flavour fiesta for foodies of all tastes, with local wines, food, oils and condiments showcased.
The event connected growers, producers and specialty retailers of New England with the interested public – and the interest was strong, with more than 1500 attending.
Produce included Super Strawberries, Moore Venison, olives and much, much more.
Drawing on local stallholders’ meat, fruit and vegetables, celebrity chef Courtney Roulston (of MasterChef’s fame) gave live cooking demonstrations.
The aim was to revitalise the previous Gourmet in the Glen festival with more produce and big names in food and entertainment.
Organisers were delighted with the turnout, as well as the broad array of local food, wine and beer offerings.
Following Sunday’s success, Taste New England is set to become an annual event but could see a change of venue to accommodate larger crowd numbers.
