Rally rounds up helping hands

FAST cars and flash bikes were all the rage at the Armidale Showgrounds on Saturday as more than 200 people set off for the annual Workmate Poker Rally.
Raising funds for locals suffering illness, the rally again set the bar high.
The group left the showgrounds and headed north to Guyra before whipping across to Bundurra and returned to Armidale via Uralla.
Cairns resident Daryl Bush, who was camping at the showgrounds, happened to have his bike with him and joined the fun.
“It’s a great idea and there was a really good turnout,” he said.
Recipients of this year’s confidential fund-raising amount are Steve Holzhauser, who is battling lung cancer, and two-year-old Levi Moran, who suffers from chronic lung disease and short bowel syndrome.
