THREE men are still at large following two armed robberies in Armidale last week.
In two incidents, believed to be related, three men with their faces covered entered Dominos Pizza 10.20pm on Tuesday and took cash, including money from a female staff member’s handbag.
Seven hours later, at 5am Wednesday, three men stole a staff member’s car outside McDonald’s Armidale.
A young woman was waiting to be let into the restaurant to start her shift.
“I drove into the car park and parked pretty much directly beside the side entrance and then I popped out of the car and walked to the door,” she told reporters.
“I heard scuffing of feet running down the pavement towards me … I turned and looked as I thought it might be someone running late and then noticed they had balaclavas on and were all hooded up.
“I felt hopeless and I didn’t know what to do.”
One of the men allegedly threatened the employee with a knife before they stole her car keys and drover off in her car.
The red Holden Commodore was recovered on Wednesday afternoon.
Crime scenes were established at both locations and examined by specialist forensic officers.
Anyone with information about either incident is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
