A concert to raise funds for the Jimmy Little Foundation will be held at the Armidale City Bowling Club on Saturday, June 30 at 7pm.
A Stellar line-up of performers will be playing, including the Jimmy Little Trio of Cyril Green, Doug Peters and Tony Green, Australia’s foremost Pedal Steel Guitar player Kenny Kitching, Emma Hanna, Jimmy’s daughter Francis Peters-Little and grandson James Henry Little.
The concert will be raising money for The Jimmy Little Foundation that promotes a healthier future for Indigenous Australians.
There will be lucky door prizes and a swag of great items that will be auctioned off.
“I really hope a lot of people come along to the concert and support the Jimmy Little Foundation,” said Cyril.
“It promises to be a terrific night out, with great music.”
Tickets are available from the Bowling Club and cost $30.
The brainchild of Cyril’s son-in-law, Mark Carey, the idea for the concert came about after attending Jimmy Little’s State Memorial earlier this year.
“We were driving home and thought it would be a great idea to have a concert in memory of Jimmy and raise money for the Foundation,” said Mark
“The Jimmy Little Foundation does great things for Indigenous health, especially the mobile renal dialysis unit, known as the ‘purple truck’.”
This unit allows people with kidney failure to go home for short periods of time and receive treatment in their community.
Mark and Cyril would like to thank Ducats, Harvey Norman, Coles, Alpha Furnishers, Hannon’s Mountview Pharmacy, Doctor Phillip Bookallil, Armidale Outdoor, Armidale City Bowling Club and the City Central Motel for their generous support.
