Residents of Uralla found their wacky and wild creative side participating in the Northern Inland Regional Waste (NIRW) Waste to Art competition.
The Waste to Art competition provided an opportunity for all members of the community to creatively communicate the waste reduction message.
The competition was open to all residents and schools located in participating Northern Inland Regional Waste (NIRW) member Council areas.
Winning entries from the local competitions in each competition category will be eligible to compete in the Regional Competition and Exhibition, to be held in Inverell during August 2011.
The Uralla Waste to Art Exhibition is being held at the Uralla Library until July 25, 2011.

Section – Secondary School
Winners in all three sections of the secondary school section were from Bundarra Central School.
Winner Art 2D/3D: Nathan Milson
Winner Wearable Art: Amber Horlych
Winner Functional Art: Annabel Cullen
Section 3 – Open (Art)
Winner: George Doran for her piece ‘Shearer’s Birds’
Second: Deni McKenzie with her piece ‘The Pipes of Pan’
The judges for the competition were local sculptor Carl Merten and Councillor Stephen Powley.
