Uralla Showground will be transformed into rev-head heaven this Sunday, February 17 with the running of the Thunderbolt, Show, Shine and Swap Meet supported once again by Shannons.
Mat Pennycuick, Shannons Armidale Regional Development Officer, was encouraged by the participation in the inaugural event last year and is looking for car lovers from across the New England to enter their pride and joy or just come along and enjoy the classic cars or participate in the swap meet.
“We are hoping to raise a few dollars towards the proposed Transport Museum in Armidale,” said Mat Pennycuick.
“We had 65 cars on the day last year, which was held on Mother’s Day but this year we have brought it forward to try and fit in with the warmer weather and get a few people out and about.”
All manner of vehicles are encouraged to enter, from vintage to classic Australian muscle cars and modern machines. Hot Rods and motorcycles are also welcome.
“Anything you want to show and shine, bring along and show off,” said Matt.
“We are also encouraging people that have items they want to come along as well.”
Trophies will be awarded, including People’s Choice and Entrant Choice, amongst others.
Entry to the event is $5 per person; $10 per family and under 12s are free. Entering vehicles to compete is free. Food will be available and gates open from 6am.
