FIVE schools in the Northern Tablelands will receive nearly $600,000 in additional maintenance and capital works.
Minister for Education Adrian Piccoli made the announcement last week during a visit to Armidale.
An additional $10 million will be spent on school maintenance across the State this year.
Funding has been secured as a result of savings made by the Department which can now be redirected into schools.
“This additional maintenance funding is over and above the $318 million regular school maintenance budget provided in 2012-’13,” Mr Piccoli said.
“With this new money five schools in Northern Tablelands will be able to undertake work to enhance their facilities.”
Bundarra Central School will receive new agricultural science facilities, Armidale City Public School will receive a toilet upgrade, Armidale High School will undergo extensive refurbishment including painting, new floor coverings and repair of walls and Duval High School will be given a fresh coat of paint.”
