A new head chef at the Armidale Ex-Services Memorial Club has revitalised the dining experience creating a new menu for The Mill bistro.
Chef Chris Kershaw has joined the club with 13 years of cooking under his belt.
After several years working in local hotels Chris was looking for a change and found that with the Servies.
“When I started with the club the menu on offer was vast and I wanted to scale that back and concentrate on preparing qualities meals,” Chris said.
“I am utilising more local produce and we are offering more steaks which is my forte.
“We still have the daily roasts on offer and our specials.
“Eventually I would love to branch out a bit and try some more exotic meals but for now I want to concentrate on preparing our new menu.”
The menu was launched last week and the feedback from members and guests was very positive.
Meals are still very affordable with Chris making sure quality is high.
“I really enjoy cooking steaks and cooking them well, it is really important to have top cuts of meat,” Chris said.
“Wherever I can I use local suppliers and produce which is something that is important to me personally and the club.”
