About 10am on Saturday January 14, emergency services were called to the New England Highway, 2kms south of Arding Road, after a car crashed into an electricity pole.
The driver, a 32-year-old local woman, died at the scene.
New England Highway was closed in both directions for a number of hours while the investigation continued and the roadway was cleared.
Police are attempting to establish the circumstances leading up to the crash and anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
