AWARD-WINNING local author Bronwyn Parry celebrated the publication of her fourth novel, Darkening Skies, in Uralla on Saturday afternoon.
Her third book in a loosely-linked trilogy set in the fictional NSW town of Dungirri, Darkening Skies is a romantic thriller in which the reopening of an investigation into a long-ago car accident that killed a young woman uncovers deadly secrets.
Combining elements of both the crime and romance genres, the investigation of old crimes and new is interwoven with the relationship between the dedicated local grazier who could face jail if he’s found responsible for the accident, and the journalist who has returned to Dungirri determined to find the truth about her cousin’s death.
The launch of her new book tops off a successful year for Bronwyn. In March, her third novel, Dead Heat, won an Australian Romance Readers Award for Favourite Romantic Suspense and was shortlisted for two prestigious international awards, the Daphne du Maurier Award and the Romance Writers of America RITA awards – often called the ’Oscars’ of romance writing.
Darkening Skies is published by Hachette Australia and available at all good bookstores.
