MEMBERS of the Armidale Spinners and Weavers Group enjoyed a very successful Open Day last Saturday.
Local visitors were joined by those from Tenterfield and Tamworth Districts.
Considerable interest was shown by those wanting to try their hand at beginner spinning.
They discussed the intricacies of scrumbling and watched demonstrations of hand-carding, drop spindle spinning, saw the large walking wheel in action and the children enjoyed learning how to make felted balls from Merino wool.
Strong club member support meant plenty of volunteers were on hand to discuss all aspects of the group’s crafts with those who attended.
