Triage improves, targets met

ARMIDALE patients are receiving quality hospital care quicker than ever before, a new report has found.
The Bureau of Health Information quarterly report (July-September 2013) into hospital performance said the Armidale Hospital, particularly in elective surgery, was outstanding.
The hospital’s results sit above the state average and at or above the national target.
All urgent elective surgery (30 days’ target) and semi-urgent (90 days) in the last quarter was carried out on time, which is above the state average.
The report said there was a marked improvement in the Emergency Department’s triage figures, with a 90 per cent national target performance.
This indicated a lift in performance compared with 83 per cent in the previous corresponding quarter last year.
