MATILDAS star Danielle Brogan will be in Armidale tomorrow night to speak about her international soccer career.
The Australian and Sydney FC defender is the guest speaker at the Armidale Sport Council’s annual awards night.
The best and brightest athletes from Armidale will be recognised at the Ex-Services Club dinner, with champions to be crowned in various categories.
A record 23 nominations in each of the junior and senior team awards mean that judging the awards will be a difficult task.
A field of 40 nominations were received in the individual catergory, although there were some major omissions.
Australian athletics age group champion Jay Stone and archer Dennis Carson were not nominated.
Sports Council president Steve McMillan said in all 14 years of the awards there were some big names not nominated.
“We stress every year that people have to be nominated to be eligible,” he said.
The awards will begin at 6.30pm tomorrow with tickets available from the 2AD reception, or from the door on the night.
