OLD cardboard boxes have been pieced together to create a Christmas tree at the Armidale Food Emporium this year.
While the tree is yet to be painted green and decorated, it will soon be erected outside of Coles.
The “giving tree” will have a sign erected next to it to encourage shoppers to donate gifts to the Salvation Army.
Armidale-based Lieutenant Ged Oldfield said the Armidale was always generous at Christmas time.
“Each year we are overwhelmed by the support and I hope that continues this year.”
