KEEPING a secret from fellow CWA members was the order of the day for a special presentation luncheon for Uralla Country Women’s Association members and family guests to award three life-memberships.
There was a kind of hush over the gather when Eileen Elks presented Murrell Carter to the meeting. Murrell had been a CWA member since 1981.
An enthusiastic worker she is always the first to offer help and the last to leave a function.
The next sponsor Elizabeth Scott, called Lady Sally Croft to be introduced to the meeting.
Lady Croft had been an active member since 1982, holding a range of positions including president, vice-president, including a number of CWA Group offices.
Claire Brazel then called Valda James to the microphone for the group assembled to hear of her contribution to CWA including various offices at branch and group level.
Members were told the three members had worked tirelessly at street stalls, and had given strong support to the making of trauma dolls for children.
Uralla CWA appreciates the exceptional work Murrell, Sally, and Valda have contributed. They, along with numerous others, have been staunch and reliable members.
