Valuing heritage

SAUMAREZ Homestead will be holding a free information day for new and existing volunteers on Sunday 25 August from 9.30am to 3.30pm (BYO lunch, morning tea provided).

Anne Philp (F.J. White’s grand-daughter) will be talking about the history of Saumarez gardens and leading a tour of the gardens. Other speakers will talk about other interesting aspects of Saumarez and volunteering at Saumarez Homestead.
All existing volunteers and anyone who may be interested in Australian history, architecture, gardens and decorative arts and would like to be part of a team sharing knowledge with others would be welcome to attend. We need more people to share the history and significance of Saumarez with our visitors.
The information day will start in the Saumarez function centre at 9.30am. To get to Saumarez Homestead visitors need to come to the Armidale Airport and follow the green signs for about 3km.
Anyone interested in attending should RSVP by Saturday 24 August by phoning 6772 3616 or emailing saumarez@nationaltrust.com.au.
