FIND your inner creative self at one of the New England Regional Art Museum’s art classes, which restart next week.
For adults, there are a number of classes in a variety of medium – drawing, painting and printmaking.
Spend Tuesday mornings drawing directly from the works on display in the NERAM galleries with Kerry Gulliver.
The afternoons will be spent in the Packsaddle Studio looking at different styles and techniques, while creating more completed works with paint and mixed media based on the morning’s experience.
On Thursdays, you can join Ross Laurie to partake in advanced painting.
Experienced painters can use this class to continue with their studio practice.
For less experienced students, you can learn many basic art principles.
Jonathon Larsen will lead a Thursday printmaking art class to introduce students to relief and intaglio styles, and to the reduction lino print process.
Del Bernett will teach starting art on Saturday mornings that will cover useful drawing techniques. She will teach participants to draw realistically, as an important foundation for other ways of making art.
Del will also be hosting continuing art on Saturday afternoons, where participants can further their technique and experience.
For further information and the costs of the classes, go to www.neram.com.au or visit between 10am and 5pm from Tuesday to Friday, or 10am to 4pm on weekends.
