NEW ENGLAND Conservatorium of Music director Susanne James says 2014 will be a bumper year for music in Armidale as NECOM gears up for its 10th anniversary.
In addition to its ongoing music programs that run across the year, NECOM is in the final stages of planning special celebration events.
“We will be putting on a great series of heritage homestead concerts, our award winning New England Sings will return and, for the first time, we will present OzOpera’s The Magic Flute,” Ms James said.
“These are all part of our 10th anniversary celebration to promote live music across our region.”
NECOM is focusing on the start of term one, when hundreds of students return from holidays to join one of the many programs that NECOM offers.
“As a regional conservatorium, we want as many parents, children, young people and adults to take part in our music programs as possible, and our 10th anniversary year is a perfect time to get involved. whether it is singing, playing an instrument or coming along to a concert,” Ms James said.
NECOM’s program starts from Monday 3 February and information on all courses is available at necom.une.edu.au or by calling (02) 6773 6419.
