ARMIDALE’S Lochlan Elks is one step closer to a Country berth after his selection in the Central North Zone’s Under-17s cricket team to play at the NSW Country Carnival at Raymond Terrace next weekend.
Eight teams will play at the Carnival which will feature the cream of Under-17 cricketers in NSW Country. Selections will be made from performances at this carnival to form a Country team to take on City the following week at Bowral.
Elks, a top order batsman and wicket keeper, is also very handy with his medium-fast bowling. He has been a member of the Central North Cricket Academy squad for three years running and plays club cricket in Armidale for Hillgrove.
