April has been a busy month for members of the Armidale Branch of CWA catering for a wide range of events.
Many locals would have tasted delicious Devonshire Teas at the CWA Morning Tea stall at the recent Tour de Cure Fair with all funds raised going to that worthy cause. Four members worked hard at the Royal Easter Show in the CWA Cafe, a very popular stop-off spot for show goers, where among other choices visitors consumed 40,000 freshly made scones. On Sunday, April 29, concert goers were served afternoon tea including homemade Anzac biscuits. Funds from this venture will go into the State-wide CWA Emergency Fund which is called upon in times of natural disasters.
At the April monthly meeting last week the resolutions to be debated at the forthcoming State Conference to be held in Blacktown in May were discussed. Because several members will be away at the conference the regular May meeting has been deferred and the next regular meeting will be on Thursday, June 21, at 1.30pm in the CWA Hall in Rusden Street.
Visitors and new members are always welcome.
