Book in demand
FEDERAL Member for New England Barnaby Joyce says he can’t wait to get his hands on a copy of the book Armidale 150 Years.
Mr Joyce, who studied at the University of New England, said Armidale was a key centre in his electorate and the celebration of the sesquicentenary was an important benchmark in the community.
He congratulated the book’s co-ordinator Poh Woodland and her work in compiling the comprehensive collection of information and photos spread across 280 pages.
Armidale 150 Years will be officially launched by former long-serving mayor Doug Hewitt at the Armidale Town Hall on Friday, 4 April.
