PROMINENT Armidale solicitor Greg Moin has been appointed as a part-time senior member of the Guardianship Division of NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
NCAT started operating on 1 January, replacing more than 20 of the state’s existing tribunals in a bid to provide a single gateway for tribunal services in NSW.
Mr Moin, who is principal of the legal firm Moin & Associates in Armidale, is one of 12 new part-time legal members recently appointed to the Guardianship Division of NCAT.
He will join with other members hearing matters in Sydney and regional and rural areas.
Mr Moin will sit several days a month as a presiding member of the Guardianship Division, dealing with matters such as the appointment of guardians and financial managers.
Member for the Northern Tablelands Adam Marshall congratulated Mr Moin on his appointment to the Tribunal and wished him success in the new role.
“Mr Moin is a highly experienced legal ’all-rounder’ with a special interest in Guardianship matters, and someone who has worked across a broad spectrum of the law,” he said.
“His practical expertise in the many fields he has worked in adds to his depth of experience in the legal community, in which he is highly respected.
“His community involvement in the disability sector and with the education of health care providers will stand him in good stead for his new role and I wish him well.”
