STUDENTS from St John’s Junior School put their running shoes on last Friday to take part in the annual cross country event.
While places in the association carnival in Sydney were up for grabs, the focus was on fun and participation.
Following the event parents and families stayed for a barbecue cooked by principal Clive Logan.
“It was a really beautiful day with so many parents coming along to attend and watch their little ones in action,” Mr Logan said.
“I was surprised at how many people commented on the school principal manning the barbecue – apparently a novelty.
“But for me it was a great way to mingle with parents and interact with the children.”
