Liam Neeson stars

THE most recent round of junior club cricket was action-packed and has highlighted the depth of talent developing in the ranks of Armidale’s juniors.
A stunning century by Hillgrove under-16 all-rounder Liam Neeson headed a long list of extraordinary achievements by junior club teams and players so far this season.
Neeson, who has only just turned 14, is currently the leading run scorer in both the under-14 and under-16 divisions.
Neeson amassed 105 not out in his team’s win over TAS Blue in a round where 11 half-centuries were recorded, proving that the juniors can provide just as much entertainment for spectators as their senior counterparts.
The under-14 TAS Yellow team didn’t disappoint its enthusiastic devotees with four batsmen attaining half-centuries in its clash with Hillgrove, while players from Hillgrove, Norths and Guyra also scored 50s in Saturday’s games.
“We’re seeing some entertaining cricket at club level this season,” Armidale Junior Cricket president Michael Dennis said.
