Why read to babies?
There is a wealth of evidence to show that children can benefit from someone reading aloud to them
Books make a baby’s life more interesting and bring a variety to the way we communicate.

Where do I find books?
Your local public library is a great place to find a selection of books, CDs and DVDs that your child will enjoy.
Armidale Dumaresq Public Library offers a “Ten Minutes a Day” program and provides practical ideas on using stories, rhymes, songs and music to help children under two years develop early literacy skills.
Attend a baby book-time workshop for parents and babies, two years and under and at the same time borrow baby book-time packs available for loan in the junior library.
