Chairo Christian School began at Drouin East in 1983.
However, today there are Chairo campuses accessible to families whether they live in Berwick or Boolarra, Gembrook or Glengarry, Maryknoll or Meeniyan, Nar Nar Goon or Nyora, Ripplebrook or Rosedale, or pretty-much anywhere else across West Gippsland, South Gippsland and the Latrobe Valley.
With more than 1700 students from kindergarten through to Year 12 attending campuses at Drouin, Drouin East, Leongatha, Pakenham and Traralgon, more families each year are discovering the educational excellence, parent partnership and caring community that Chairo offers.
From completing up to two years of funded kindergarten and transitioning into Prep, to completing VCAL or VCE and transitioning into careers or further study, there are many wonderful stories to be told about the multi-faceted Christian education provided at Chairo.
Having graduated from the Drouin campus in 2020, Melody Pedersen from Newborough is currently studying for a Bachelor of Arts at Melbourne University. Reflecting on her years at Chairo, she said: “I really appreciated the welcoming community and culture that Chairo provides and how the teachers encouraged us to pursue learning and our faith in God”.
Executive Principal, Simon Matthews, explained: “Chairo provides an educational experience that is intentionally designed to foster individual gifts and enhance learning while revealing God and his creation. We are committed to valuing each student and discovering their personal qualities, while encouraging them to develop their God-given abilities”.
