Newcastle Permanent Building Society (Newcastle Permanent) is assisting families across the North West by providing more than $500,000 over three years in sponsorship of Junior Football with Northern NSW Football (NNSWF).
Newcastle Permanent CEO Terry Millett said the new sponsorship also means cheaper registration fees for junior footballers in the North West.
“Newcastle Permanent is proud to partner with NNSWF in reducing football registration fees for children (in the under 5 – 10 year-old age groups), which is great news for families across Northern NSW,” Mr Millett said.
“Newcastle Permanent has been a long-term supporter of NNSWF previously by supporting the Centre of Excellence Program which has helped to nurture talented young footballers in regional NSW. Due to the ongoing popularity of junior football we have now decided to increase our investment to become the major sponsor of Junior Football for at least the next three years.
We are delighted to support another activity through our community sponsorships program that encourages young boys and girls to participate in a healthy and active lifestyle,” Mr Millett said.
Northern NSW Football Marketing and Communications Manager David Cromarty said Newcastle Permanent’s sponsorship was the largest in the history of junior football in Northern NSW and would benefit more than 35,000 children who play football in Northern NSW.
“Newcastle Permanent has been an excellent supporter of football in Northern NSW and its new sponsorship will make football more affordable for families.
“Part of the new sponsorship arrangement means every registered player in the Under 5, Under 6 and Under 7s age groups will also receive a free football and shin pads,” Mr Cromarty said.
Northern Inland Football Manager, Dino Perizzolo, said the support from Newcastle Permanent will make a difference to a lot of families and should help make 2012 a bumper year for junior player registrations.
“Our registration season commences at the beginning of February and we look forward to welcoming new recruits both boys and girls to the world game of football.”
