It is not the biggest school in the Tweed District but Cudgen is proving to be the “little school that could” when it comes to swimming.
The school has produced not one but two District champions following the Tweed Primary School Sports Association carnival at Club Banora last week.
Not only that but the school actually finished fourth over-all behind near neighbours Kingscliff Public who won the day.
But leading the way for Cudgen were two stars of the future – Rory Matthews and Amee Pfeffer.
The dynamic duo proved unstoppable in the pool finishing on the top of the medal tally with Rory, who is in year 6, winning the Senior Boys Championship title and Amee, in Year Five, winning the 11 Years Girls Championship.
