The sun was not out yet, it was just starting to get light, I was fishing Pickets Wall (I think that’s what it’s called) just near Ukerebagh Island. Some people call this ‘the blue hole’ but it’s not, the ‘blue hole’ is around the corner.
A couple of kms away I spotted a guy walking the shoreline, rod in hand, he ended up fishing off the wall next to me. We were both using plastics, running the lure down the wall, then just letting it sit there as though bait fishing, then you’d feel the tap, tap, strike quickly and reel a nice bream in.
It was a great session as I chattered away to the ‘ghost of Ukerebagh’ and I lost count of the amount of fish I caught.
Bream heaven at the moment as they are everywhere, it seems you can catch them off any wall.
I did a fair bit of trawling over the weekend and along Kennedy Drive area I landed a horse of a fish on a pontoon 21 hardbodied lure, the lure’s name is a ‘greedy guts’ and it certainly lived up to its name as I caught a lot of fish with it.
The weather was so good, the river was very busy and it was great to see families fishing together from the jetty at the Kennedy Drive boat ramp. It didn’t seem to matter if they caught something or not, they were enjoying themselves and getting caught up in all the activity,
I got chatting to a couple of guys at the boat ramp and they let me have a photo with a fish they caught out wide in 200ft of water, no one knew what type of fish it was, looks like some kind of cod to me, what do you reckon? Who can help me out?
Cheers.
