The Tweed has three young softball stars in the making with a trio of local girls off to the NSW Primary School Sports Association Titles in Sydney this week.
The girls, Jasmin Jones Calvert, Claire Evans and Lucie Jones Calvert are all in Year 6 at St James Primary School Banora Point as well as playing weekend softball in the Tweed District competition.
The students are at the NSW PSSA softball carnival at Curl Curl in Sydney this week and are representing Polding (the Northern NSW Catholic region).
Polding will compete against 10 state school teams, an Independent school team and the southern Catholic region.
The carnival is expected to be dominated by strong and well drilled Sydney Regions but the girls are looking forward to the experience of playing at a high level.
This is the first time Lucie and Jasmin have represented Polding for sofball while Claire also made the team last year.
