North United step up a gear

After Round 15 of the New England Mutual Premier League, North Armidale United still sit on top of the table by one point, with Demon Knights scratching at their heels.
The Redmen, who looked some-what less red in their black and red strip, convincingly won their encounter with Tamworth FC 4-0 at the newly named home of North Armidale United Football, Phil Wheaton Field.
The fiery encounter produced some excellent football from Norths with a pumped up Willow Grieves leading from the front. Tamworth FC clearly matched Norths in the sledging but were unable to dent the Norths’ defence with the Redmen running away with the game.
In other Round 15 games, Demon Knights dispatched UNE FC 6-0, South Armidale defeated Gunnedah United 2-0, North Companions defeated East Armidale 3-0 and Oxley Vale Attunga beat Joeys FC 4-0.
This weekend Oxley Vale Attunga take on North Companions FC at Carter Street Fields in Tamworth; UNE FC host Joeys FC at Consett Davis Field UNE; Tamworth FC are at home to Gunnedah United at Gipps Street, Tamworth; East Armidale play host to South Armidale at Doody Park in Armidale; and, what is sure to be the clash of the round, Demon Knights host North United at Rologas Fields.
