AHS student selected for Indigenous AllStars

Armidale High student and member of BackTrack Fred Campbell has been selected to play in the Indigenous AllStars junior team at the Gold Coast Carnival in February.
For the 15-year-old Year 9 student the selection caps off a successful sporting year in which he also won three major sporting awards at the school.
He is following a strong family tradition with his father Mooch Widders, a  star Narwon player and his cousin Jimmy Widders also selected to play with the Allstars.
Campbell has been playing as halfback with the Armidale Rams for three years and acompeted in the NSW Combined High Schools Country Rugby League team this year.
He also plays touch football and basketball.
“We are really proud of Fred’s achievements in sport,” said Armidale High Principal Anne Matley.
“He is a very talented athlete and a fine young sportsman with a great future in football.”
