AUSTRALIAN and NSW cricket players Patrick Cummins and Ben Dwarshuis will be in Armidale on Thursday as part of Cricket NSW’s Country Blitz Tour.
Pat Cummins is a current Australian player well known for his magnificent Test debut in South Africa where he took seven wickets and was named Player of the Match.
Currently out injured, Cummins will spend three days this week in Armidale attending schools, coaching clinics and the T20 Blast Schools Cup to be held at the Sportsground on Thursday.
Ben Dwarshuis is a young all-rounder who bowls left arm fast-medium pace and combines this with some dangerous hard-hitting batting.
Dwarshuis represented NSW at under-19 level last season and has earned himself a Cricket NSW “rookie” contract for the coming season.
Both players will be attending a junior coaching clinic on Thursday afternoon, 5 September, at the Armidale Sportsground.
This will be followed by a senior clinic and barbecue and the opportunity for young cricketers and their parents to meet both players.
All interested Armidale cricketers, parents, supporters and community members are welcome to attend these events.
