The Netball season is starting to ramp up with Armidale and District Netball Association conducting selection trials last Saturday for 12s, 13s, 14s and 15s representative teams which were to play this weekend in the Armidale Inter-district Netball Carnival however due to flooding events preventing a full turn out from other associations the carnival has been cancelled.
Instead the third and final rep-trials will take place at the Armidale courts on Saturday, February 11 for girls turning 12 or 13 in 2012 with try out between 9:00am and 10:30am. For girls turning 14 or 15 in 2012, will try out from 10:30am to 12pm.
Publicity Officer for the Armidale and District Netball Association Billie Murray is encouraged by the excellent quality and number of girls trying out for the representative teams.
“We should have excellent representative teams this year our girls always play really well together,” said Billie Murray.
“They get great support with skills training up to state age and leading into Inter-district carnivals which are coming up soon.”
The regular Netball season is looking exciting this year and ADNA is encouraging players to start working now on their fitness so that they can be at their best for round one which begins on Saturday, April 28.
Registration for the regular season is on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 5-7pm – for Clubs, Schools and Independent teams registration and again on Saturday, March 24, 2012 12-2pm.
“There is still plenty of time to get teams together,” Billie Murray said.
“I am really expecting there to be a very strong division one competition this year, we have some more teams coming in and players swapping around so it should be very strong and challenging.”
