The first ever event in the Kingscliff Turbine Swim Run Series will be held on Kingscliff beach 7am on Sunday morning.
The event is a fun community fitness event open to all ages, involving a 350m flat water swim and 4km run.
Organiser Cheryl Cain said the events aims to promote fun, fitness and friendship, encouraging participation from all local community members regardless of their athletic ability. With three races running monthly, scheduled to begin on December 11, 2011.
She said the event is a fund raiser for the Cudgen Headland Surf Club to assist in keeping the Kingscliff beaches safe.
Entry fee is just $10 for each event and race registration is at 6.30am at the Kingscliff Boat Ram, Faulks Park. Race categories include 14 and under, 17 and under, Open 18 plus, Open 40 plus and team (one swimmer and one runner any age).
