40 years of Physical Culture celebrated

Physical Culture Clubs from across Queensland and New South Wales descended on Armidale for an inter-club competition which was held at the NEGS Multi-Purpose Centre last weekend to celebrate the Armidale Physical Culture Club’s 40th anniversary.
The NEGS MPC was a hub of activity all weekend, with a huge number of competitors ranging in age from five years to open ladies.
Armidale Physical Culture teacher Michelle Pearce was thrilled with the turnout over the weekend.
“This inter-club competition is in preparation for our zone competition later in the year and it is also held here to celebrate the 40th anniversary of our club,” said Michelle Pearce.
“This is a friendly type of competition, with 12 clubs competing.
“Girls compete against others in their own age group.
“Physical Culture is a form of exercise which involves a number of different exercises performed to music. There are floor exercises, warm-up and dance and basic ballet all done to modern music,” said Michelle.
The Armidale Physical Culture Club has about 90 members ranging from the age of two years to older ladies.
