Round four of the Servies Super 9s competition was played on Friday night with the first game of the night a hard fought contest between Sportspower and Australian Business Apprenticeships Centre.

In the first quarter Sportspower dominated the game though some very slick ball movement to create a lot of scoring opportunities however Will Brisset had another Stellar performance in goals to deny Sportspower from scoring. The second and third quarters belonged to the Apprentices and they went up 3-1. During the first six minutes of the last quarter it looked as though the Sportspower team were finished but they produced a final surge to level the game at three goals a-piece. Peter Georkas and Sam Uphill were the standout players for the Sportspower team. The best on ground for the Apprentices were once again Will Brissett and Chris Massey who provided a strong wall in defence.

The second fixture was also a tight affair between the undefeated team from Hunts Carpets and New England Mutual. In the beginning it looked as though Hunts were going to have things their own way again going up with an early goal, however The New England Mutual team were not going to give up that easily and from there both teams traded goal for goal. Ben Hanlan and Simon Massey were superb for the Hunts team while for New England Mutual Luke Uphill was in everything. The game ended with four goals – piece.

The games were played at a very fast pace and there were some absolutely superb skills on display. With 14 goals being scored on the night it was a great spectacle for the growing

crowd.

With bar and BBQ facilities on ground it is a great night out for the entire family. So bring the kids along and watch some of the best players in the region playing some excellent hockey in a great family environment. Games start at 7pm on Friday.
