The team from Roberts and Morrow in Armidale have won the Sportspower Workplace Challenge Triathlon with a scintillating time of 30 minutes and 24 seconds finishing 20 seconds ahead of their nearest rivals, the Feel Good Fitness Team on Sunday at TAS.
The Roberts and Morrow team made up of Maja Poplvic, Anthony Rogers and Clint Black were thrilled with their first win in the Workplace Challenge considering they had only put in around two weeks training.
“We rode the course about two or three times to get familiar with what we would have to do,” Anthony Rogers said.
“Even though we didn’t train much for this event we all regularly exercise and train for events like the Campus City Canter and Maja went to the Olympic trials a few years ago, so fitness is important to us.”
The team found the course challenging and very fast so to come away with a win in their first Workplace Challenge has been rewarding.
“The run was by far the toughest leg, we came from fifth to first with Clint Black putting in an awesome leg for us in the final run, he was super quick.”
In second place was the Feel Good Fitness team of Andrew Starr, Georgina Byrnes and Lachlan Fulloon.
$720 was raised from entry fees for the day of triathlons with the money going towards CanAssist which provides assistance and care to patients and their families living with cancer.
