The Armidale Riding Club held an official dressage competition on Sunday, August 12 at the Equestrian Centre in Kennedy Street, Armidale. The weather was kind and some great performances were on show.
Riders from across the region were competing for official points which are awarded to the first six riders based on results in each category. Horse and rider combinations competed at a range of levels, from the “Preliminary” level where the foundations of training are being established, right through to “Prix St George” where much more complex and demanding movements are required. There were also “Associate” competitions for riders not competing for official points.
The official preliminary classes were won by A Andrews on Sandon Grove Bobby Dazzler (1B), N Styles on Murphy (1D) and A Dunn on Pizazz (Pony 1B). The Novice classes were won by K Duver on Compendo (2D) and A Dunn on Stanhope Quatro (Pony 2D). The official elementary classes were won by K Crees on Argentylle Illyssa (3B) and K Dunver on Compendo (3D). Official medium classes were won by A Sozou on Flowervale Ferro Eve (4B) and A Sozou on Marcello (4C). The official advanced classes were won by G Green on Prince of Pleasure (5B abd 5C). The official Prix St George class was won by N Stewart on Romantic. The Associated classes were won by E Taikato on Tales of Goodluck (Preliminary 1A), K Holland on Silverdene Classico (Novice 2A), A Sozou on Marcello (3A).
