TWEED Byron District Bowls championship singles, played with the new format of 25-up, was a thriller from beginning to end.
As the women progressed through their rounds a very high standard of bowls was witnessed across the board.
The majority of games went down to the wire with victors only claiming the spoils with their last bowl.
The final of this blue ribbon event, conducted at Ocean Shores club in perfect conditions, was certainly a game to behold as the two combatants took to the green to do battle.
Coral Withers (Pottsville), displaying superb bowling prowess, overtook Elizabeth Fleming (Cudgen Leagues) in this great encounter of champions, to take home the title. Congratulations to Coral on a great performance and best wishes for continued good bowling at the region one play-off in August.
