Last weekend the South Coast Automotive Group Tweed Valley Equestrian Group Official Dressage Championships was held at the Murwillumbah Showgrounds in perfect conditions. Riders travelled from the Gold Coast and Hinterland and Northern NSW for the two day event with quite a number camping over for the weekend.
Saturday morning saw a variety of classes starting out with the lower grade of Preliminary and working through seven grades to the higher level of the Omaru Apollo Intermediate ll 2009.
After lunch there was a change of pace with the freestyle to music classes. A captive audience not only enjoyed the six levels of tests with a wide range of music but was also treated to a lovely spread of wines and cheeses. A nice way to spend an afternoon, keep it in mind for next year’s event.
Sunday had eight classes, again starting with preliminary and working through to the higher grades of Intermediate, Omaru Apollo Grand Prix 2009 and Grand Prix Special being judged by specially brought in international judges. Chief Judge from Sydney, Gisela Nilsson – Harding thoroughly enjoyed the weekend with compliments to the club.
Much hard work goes into organising such an event so a big thank you to all the organisers, helpers, riders and most importantly the major sponsor South Coast Automotive Group.
