NIAS Tennis trial day

The 2012 NIAS tennis trials were held at the Inverell tennis courts on Saturday February 11 with 40 players competing for 16 positions in the squad. Many of the junior players were from Armidale and coached by Justin Sherriff who is also the Head NIAS Tennis Coach.
The Calibre of player was very high at this development camp and will be a difficult task choosing who will be included this year. Places will be offered based on their performance on the day, their ranking and or via talent identification process through Tennis NSW. A selection panel will assess each application based on performances and attitude and commitment to tennis. Tennis NSW coaches who attended on the day include Mr Ken Wray the NSW Community Tennis Officer, Mark Wilton the General Manager of Tennis NSW and North West Coaches Justin Sherriff, Peter Louis ,Jared Campbell and Geoff Blanck.
The Athletes chosen will receive intensive training support with exceptional coaches , sports science fitness testing, life skills coaching, however athletes must be committed to a holistic approach to their development on and off the field. The aim is to support identified talented Tennis players in making the transition to higher levels of competition and performance.
