Kingscliff High’s Surfers took to the waves last week to decide just who would represent the school at this year’s surfing events.
Surfing in a good metre to a metre-and-a-half swell off main beach at Kingscliff, the students were able to show their style.
With the school garnering a great reputation thanks to former students, including Steph Gilmore and the Styman sisters, competition was once again fierce.
In the girls’ division, rising star of the surfing world Jacinta Greenup was the winner, with Lisa Cook coming in second. The tough junior boys’ division went down to the wire, with Luke Gyory beating Franklin Bell.
The coveted senior event went to Robbie Rickard from Tom Halloran.
The regional titles will be held at Yamba in second term.
